Thanks for reading! You are right in pointing out the left’s own efforts at myth-making. That would make a great article I would want to read. But what you probably don’t know about QAnon is that they take something specific that’s happening in the news and re-interpret it, so for example if Trump says something stupid and he gets made fun of, the QAnon people will decide that what Trump said was actually a coded message to someone and that therefore what he said was perfect. Or they will find an obscure news item about someone getting arrested and decide that it’s because he had information about Hilary Clinton’s emails. So beyond elevating a hero or an idea to mythic levels, they are also telling themselves an alternate story about reality in real time. There is nothing on the left that approaches this behavior. Hope that helps explain it.
